Sorry I haven't been blogging recently,
I've been super duper duper duper busy with my piles of assignment
and not to mention all the hectic schedules in Semester 2 .____.

Anyways, we've got a new member in our CTX group which is Nabila :)
I'm really glad that she joined our group cause she gives really good ideas
We decided to change our Cult and went with something more interesting.
We discussed and came up with a new storyline to our Noir Film..

Nabila volunteered to draw the storyboard out :)

Monogram Inspiration

-This is the book that I borrowed from our Taylor's Library-

For today's tutorial session...Ms Lisa told us to explain 3 types of design/inspiration that we have researched infront of our classmates. She gave us 15minutes to do some preperation before explaining to the class..This is the 3 designs that I have chosen :)

I choose this design because It has a 3-Dimensional twist to it. Not only that, the usage of straight lines shows that it is very stable, strong and bold.

I like this design because it's very simple. I personally believe that a design should be simple yet unique. The usage of just a simple "dot" makes this font stand out.I also like it because it has a cartoon/animated feel to it.

Lastly, I choose this design because I find it cute and very animated looking :)

After explaining the designs that I've chosen to my classmates, Ms Lisa decided that "Animation" should be my type of font/monogram. In my mind I was thinking...this should be interesting to work with...haha XD..
Class went on with my other classmates showing their inspirations to one another..At the end of the class, Ms Lisa told us to come up with some sketches and show them to her during the next class :).

Monograms!

Hi everyone!!..Ms Lisa told us about our new assignment today which is "MONOGRAMS"!! ...yayy... I was really looking forward for this assignment..cause I've heard about it from my seniors already :) . We had a short lecture session on what Monogram and Logos is all about..So, what is the difference between Monorgam and Logo? xP.

 MONOGRAMS
A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters or other graphemes to form one symbol. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or logos

In my own words : Monogram is a combination of the initials of an individual.

Examples :

 LOGO

A logo is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization (a logotype or wordmark).

In my own words :  A logo is a visual representative which either uses graphics or logotype

Examples :

At the end of our lecture session, Ms Lisa told us to go and look for inspirations in the library. It can be a book,magazine,newspaper...well..practically ANYTHING! that inspires us.. We were told to bring our "source" of inspiration during the next class on thursday ( 12/12/2013)..for tutorial session :)

Batik Presentation

5/12/2013

We had our Batik presentation today during class

This was how Me and Kim displayed our artwork :)

Before our presentation started, Ms Lisa personally came up to me and Kim. She told us that he tried getting David to finish up his work. However, he wasn't feeling well and couldn't come to the presentation today. Ms Lisa appologized to both of us cause she really tried her best to help us..but in the end.our composition couldn't be completed ...haihhh..I was really sad at that moment. Anyways, during the presentation.. everything went well I guess..Ms Lisa even told everyone about the situation that me and Kim were facing the whole time. hmmm... She mentioned that we tried our best with what we have...and never showed any sign off despair. Everyone was clapping for us and I felt really grateful that they showed us their support :) Everyone did a really good job with the artworks!. I didn't manage to take any pictures..but I'll post them up if I managed to get it from my course mates.

Well, big thanks to Kim for being with me throughout this whole batik assignment process.. I couldn't have done it without you :) ..I know It has been a tough time for both of us..but remember what Ms Lisa said to us...never stop smiling and always keep a positive attitude :D ..To Ms Lisa, thank you for helping us out too..I know you've tried your best and I really do appreciate your help...thankiewwww soooo much!!! :).

Batik Trip

Hey everyone!!
I'm finally back from the Batik trip.. We started our day by gathering at Student Life Centre around 8.30am.. We took a bus and arrived at Jadi Batek Gallery around 9 something I think? O.O .

Upon arrival, we were directed to the batik painting area. Before we started doing anything, the staffs there gave us a brief demonstration on the steps on how to do Batik. The instructions were given very clearly by the staffs. We stationed ourselves and I stood next to my team member,Kim.

Throughout the whole process, we have helped one another with our Batik artwork. The part where we had to use wax to draw was the most difficult part of the Batik process. It required alot of patience and steady hands !. LOLS..my hands were really shaky holding the wax pen * forgot the name of it in malay..whooops xP* .My lines were not really consistent and I had to seek help from the Batik instructors..tehehehe XP...The painting process is next after drawing. I really enjoyed this part as I get to mix and match colours! :). It was quite frustrating at first cause my paint overflowed into the cloth due to my lines being too fine.. :( ..nawhh..my painting was rather destroyed but I just continued painting..Kim finished her painting earlier and decided to lend me a helping hand..big thanks to her! XD

OUR FINAL OUTCOME!

 OTHERS

We ended at around 12.30pm and I waited for my brother to pick me up straight from the Batik centre. I am really really really sorry to Ms Lisa and some of my classmates cause they had to wait for me. My brother was stuck in traffic and got lost on the way here. They waited 1hour+ for me and I felt really guilty for that. SO SORRRRRRRRRYYY!!! .Anyways, everything went well in the end and I really enjoyed myself during this trip :) . Can't wait to see the final outcome next Tuesday when they deliver our artwork to Taylor's ^^.

Changes

A lot of things have been happening lately in our group... we've been facing tons of problems and miscommunication.. David hasn't been cooperating well with us in a group ..It has always been me and Kim who have been discussing about our Noir Film...hmmm....during class today...Kim told Mr Charles about our situation and he told us to just continue on working together without David. .Wow..from 3 members to 2 now...It's definitely going to be a big struggle for us.. most groups have 4-5 people...yet our group has only 2??!!.. haihh...tough life...

Anyways, when class was over.. Me and Kim decided to work on our Noir Film storyline again. We went to the Admin Office area and decided to discuss around there :) .To be honest, we were quite stuck for the first 1hour trying to come up with the story...I think we were just too tired at that moment..Later on..ideas starting flowing out of our brains and we managed to come up with part of the story line ...

Here's a brief description on what we wrote

So our cult is still about the teddy bear. In our Noir Film, we show two different life of the society. One of it is the King ( royal family ) and the other one is an ordinary family ( Girl and her mum ).

KING'S SIDE

* King has a better life compared to his little brother (CL)
* King always gets all the attention from the mother
*Death of the parents
*One of them have to takeover the role as King of the country
*Election day
*High authorities people only can vote
*King won over his little brother (CL)
*Crown ceremony
*King feels like he should do something for the society
*King gives speech
*Teddy bear for * outstanding performance kids*
*Feels satisfied for doing something good*
*Went to bed...*lights off*

GIRL'S SIDE

* Girl living with her mother
* Always get treated well by her mother
* Having dinner together
* Shows her mother the bear that was given from the King
*Mother feels proud that her child was selected as one of the *outstanding performance kids*
*Mother kiss her goodnight...went to bed...*lights off*

Batik Sketches

After getting our theme approved by Ms Lisa,
We started working on our design and composition for the Batik project
Here is our sketches :)

-This is my sketch done on an A4 size paper -
After my sketch was approved by Ms Lisa, I started drawing it on an A3 size paper

-Kim's Sketch-

Well, we had some issues during our group discussions.. Somehow, we couldn't get along together well.. Hmm.. David was suppose to handover his sketch to me 2 days before the Batik Trip..However, he mentioned that couldn't make it for the trip..which means my team is left with 2 members ( me and Kim). Ms Lisa just told us to continue on working with what we have...sighh...
