Mini Model

Hey everyone!
Today, me and my group members met up at Uni to discuss on our group assignment
Our first task was to create a mini model and also draw out some sketches :)

Here are some pictures of our progress ^_^

-The scenario inside the Design Studio-

-Twinnce doing the decorations on the wheel-

-Me and Kim sticking the center pole onto the mini model-

-David and Jasper figuring out the measurements for the mini model-

 FINAL PRODUCT

what do you guys think of it?? so cute right..hahaha XD
anyways..during the following week which is (3/7/2013)...we had a group tutorial with Ms.Lisa.
She wanted us to show our mini model and also give a brief description on the materials and how we're going to make the actual size model. Overall, the tutorial went fine and Ms.Lisa appointed me as the group leader. She told me to write a proposal regarding on the materials we're going to use and send the document to her during the following week.

Assignment 4 - Colour Wheel

Our first ever group assignment!! yay XD
For this assignment..we have to create our own version of a COLOUR WHEEL
It has to be something that goes beyond the normal colour wheel :)
sounds simple right?? well..the catch to it is that we have to make a 3-Dimensional end product which can float on the lake...

.. After a brief explanation by our lecturer regarding this assignment, we had to sketch out 6 ideas and present it to Ms Lisa in an hour's time.

My group members were me, Kim,David,Jasper and Twinnce..however..2 of them were absent from class today. Despite that, 3 of us still managed to come up with 6 ideas

After an hour, we went back to the Design Studio and presented our ideas to Ms Lisa.
Ms Lisa said that she likes two of our ideas which were the pencil raft and merry go round.
In the end, she suggested we go for the "Pencil Raft"

However, we decided to go with "Merry Go-Round" instead after discussing this matter with everyone in the group. We personally think that making this "Merry Go-Round" is a very challenging task indeed. However, we want to prove to everyone that we can cope with this task and produce a wonderful outcome in the end.

A duration of 1 month is given for this group assignment
Due Date : 31st July 2013

Appendages :)

For this assignment, we were required to create 2 appendages
One of it has to be on an object and another has to be on part of the human body
I found this task rather challenging because we have to think outside the box.

Anyways, so...what is appendage all about?
It is something added or attached to an entity of greater importance or size; an adjunct.
Examples :

Here are the new appendages that I've created :)

1) Drink Dispenser

This new appendage is one of the best drink dispenser ever created!. Don't you feel like it's more attractive compared to those typical drink dispensers that we always use? After all, with just a simple attachment of this faucet, one can simply obtain the drink from the bottle itself. Why waste your money on a big drink dispenser when you can actually get a "special faucet" at a reasonable price!.Now this is something you dont want to regret not buying!.

2) The Multi-Tasker

Don't you wish that you could do two things at once? Well, with this new appendage "The Multi- tasker", one can simply do two things at once!.How amazing right? It's just the matter of attaching this hand on to yourself and TADAAAA!! It will magical work on it's own!. Pretty impressive right? XD.So what are you waiting for? get up now and purchase this appendage of a lifetime!.

Hey peeps! I'm back!!
Alright so....let's get back to the topic :)

Describe the following colours

Warm Colours
*based on yellows, oranges, browns, yellowish greens, warm reds...
*relative visual temperature makes them seem warm

Cool Colours
*blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and true "blue-based" reds
*which tend to appear more distant or move away from you

Colours [ Part 1 ]

For this week assignment,
Ms Lisa ask used to update our E-portfolio
and also to add on a new thread which is "Colours"
DEFINE
Hue
"the degree to which a stimulus can be described as similar to or different from stimuli that are described as red, green, yellow and blue
colors with the same hue are distinguished with adjectives referring to their lightness and/or chroma
hue refers to a pure color—one without tint or shades
Value
value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color
It becomes critical in a work which has no colors other than black, white, and a gray scale.

Saturation
*Intensity of colour, degree to which it differs from white
* The amount of brightness of a hue
* the amount of purity of a hue, chroma, intensity

Secondary Colours
A colour made by mixing two primary colours

Here's a video I found on YouTube explaining to you about Primary and Secondary Colours xD

Tertiary Colours
combinations of primary and secondary colours
There are six tertiary colors;
red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet
.

Analogous Colours

groups of colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel, with one being the dominant color, which tends to be a primary or secondary color, and two on either side complimenting, which tend to be tertiary.

-It’s best used with either warm or cool colors
creating a look that has a certain temperature as well as proper color harmony

Tint
Mixture of color with white, which increases lightness.

Shades
Mixture of color with black, which reduces brightness
Monochromatic Colours
Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue
derived from a single base hue, and extended using its shades, tones and tints

-I think this post is getting kinda long already..I shall continue this in the next post ! ^^-
-STAY TUNED FOR PART 2! ~ tehehhee- XD

Assignment 3

Hi peeps~ it's assignment time again!
This time..we will be doing paper cutouts :)
We had to produce 2 different types of paper cutouts which is
SYMMETRICAL AND ASYMMETRICAL

just a brief description on what "Symmetrical" and "Asymmetrical" means

Symmetrical-means that both sides of something are identical.
Asymmetrical things are irregular and crooked, and don't match up perfectly when folded in half.

During this class, Ms Lisa told us to come up with some sketches and also decide on what theme we want to use for the paper cutouts.I've decided to go with the theme of "Love"

2nd Assignment Progress

Here are some pictures that I've taken for my 2nd P.O.D assignment :)
SNEAK PREVIEW TIME! xD

Poor Danbo, sitting all alone without a partner :(

This is danbo, struggling with studies all alone..

Looking outside the window hoping for a better day...

 At the playground all alone..
Danbo : What if i fall? Will anyone be there to pick me up ? :(

I've finally found a friend! ..Someone who will always be there for me.

Danbo

Hi everyone~ XD ..the subject matter that I've chosen for this assignment is Danbo. What is Danbo actually? xP..well..it is a toy figurine created in Japan. I found out about this through my cousin whom likes to collect Japanese toy figurines :)
PREPERATION
I had to do some research on where I could purchase this toy figurine. At first, I only could find it through online shops.Due to lack of time, I couldn't do any online purchasing. I was so glad that I managed to find a shop that sells "Danbo".The shop is called "XL Shop" which is located at Berjaya Times Square..I had to take some time off to visit that shop..Upon purchasing the model kit..I then had to patiently make the toy figurine. It took me around 3hours to make the big Danbo..while I took just 15minutes to make the small one :)

My Danbo making process XD

All in all, I feel very satisfied that i managed to finish making this toy figurine :).There were many times where I almost gave up cause It was rather complicating to follow the instructions given. But in the end, I still managed to overcome those challenges and complete my mission.
